Orgs, Projects and Sharing

Once you get setup with an account and gain access, you’ll notice that RevealAI has a fairly standard permissions structure that includes Orgs, Users (Members & Guests) and Projects.

Orgs

At the very top of the hierarchy are Orgs. Your Org will always have one owner and potentially several members. Members of the Org can either be an Editor or Viewer. Orgs are also the container for all of your organizations projects. If the owner or any editor create a project, they will be shown here and be visible to all org members.

Projects

Projects are the container for an individual research project. These are currently overwhelmingly chatbots, but can also be an uploaded dataset or Reddit thread. Projects are always visible to anybody with org access (owner, editors, viewers), but can also be shared on an individual level.

Users (Owner, Members and Guests)

Owner

Owners are the main point of contact for an org and have permissions to make any changes to the org including the transfer of ownership to another member.

Members

Members reside at the top level of the org and can be either an editor or a viewer. Editors can create, view and edit projects. Viewers can view, but can’t edit or create, projects. All members have access to all projects of the org.

Guests

Guests are users that have access to specific projects, but will still appear as part of your org access settings. For example, if you grant access to “My Favorite Project” to “User #1” they will be listed as a guest at the Org level, but will only have access to that one project and no other projects in the Org unless explicitly granted access. Guests can be editors or viewers of a project. As with members, editors can’t edit while viewers can only browse the project.
